There are many signs that our economy has hit its low, and that's actually good news according to economists such as Alan S. Blinder who wrote an interesting Opinion in the July 24 issue of the Wall Street Journal. Mr. Blinder, a professor of economics and public affairs at Princeton University and vice chairman of the Promontory Interfinancial Network is also a form vice chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. He stated the following:
"Yes, the times feel awful. But there are reasons to believe we'll soon have economic growth. Three percent grown is eminently doable. Four percent is even possible...it follows directly from the arithmetic of hitting bottom." He further stated that the "cessation of a catastrophic decline" will begin to take the economy back up.
