Event: Fourth of July Freedom Celebration
Location: Client Headquarters, Englewood, Colorado
Client: The Museum of Outdoor Arts
Client Objectives
Create an “artsy”, signature event for the Fourth of July to increase visibility for the client, its public sculpture collection and programs. The event was to precede performances by The Four Tops and The Temptations in the Museum-owned Fiddler’s Green Amphitheater, an 18,000 capacity outdoor venue.

- Develop a theme that is uniquely “Colorado.”
- Incorporate performance art and artful stunts to generate interest and reflect the client’s image.
- Choreograph the entire production as a continuous performance.
- Include unusual special effects, such as daytime fireworks.
- Include interactive community components.
- Design the event to showcase the beautiful grounds at The Museum’s headquarters.
- Integrate both visual and performing arts into the production.

- Six weeks of rehearsals for the rappellers.

Project Design including:
- A skydiver landing with an American flag to start the show.
- A choreographed parade that danced down the street to The Museum’s building as soon as the skydiver landed with the flag.
- A choreographed vertical “ballet” down the face of The Museum’s five-story building performed by volunteer rappellers who were window washers and mountaineers.
- A block long dance performance choreographed specifically for the occasion on the walkway leading to The Museum’s building.
- A chorus of gospel singers dressed like the Statue of Liberty singing freedom songs. (This was one of the community projects performed by volunteers.)
- An installation of a “rainbow” fence designed by a Colorado artist and installed by volunteers.
- Installation of a 70 ft. long hand made American flag hidden between the 2 wings of the building then lowered on cue to a recording of America the Beautiful.
- Presentation of a daytime fireworks display to conclude the show, designed by internationally acclaimed fireworks artist, Pierre-Alain Hubert.
Results
- Every major local print media, radio station and television station covered the event.
- The Museum gained incredible visibility and publicity and was very satisfied with the event.
