Skyline Concept-to-Completion Services
- Theme: Conceived and developed a comprehensive event based on an innovative Mardi Gras theme.
- Production Plan: Produced a full production plan and script with related budget for client’s review and approval.
- Venue: Secured an exciting venue, in a private space at one of Denver’s newest (at that time) and most exciting venues, it’s new football stadium, Invesco Field.
- Invitation: Developed concept, design and copy.
- Site Design and Décor:
Rather than using the traditional Mardi Gras colors of green, gold and purple, a more mysterious ambiance was created by using a color theme of red, black and white.
Incorporated color coordinated masks and other motifs reminiscent of Mardi Gras themes and ancient Venice.
Atmospheric installations included lighting and projections, table décor, floral, giant strings of beads, six-foot tall masks and vignettes (“floats”).
- Technical Production: Managed all technical requirements for the production including staging and stage management, generated power, stage lighting, large screen video monitors, audio, and theme-related video footage.
- Menu: Menu design was a joint effort between the on-site caterer and Skyline’s recipe suggestions obtained from famous New Orleans 5-star restaurants.
- Show Production & Entertainment:
The venue was transformed into a “float barn” patterned after the famed Kern Studios, builders of most of the Mardi Gras floats.
With Mr. Kern’s permission, a video of Kern Studios’ float-building prowess played on multiple monitors throughout the evening.
Five full-sized “floats” were constructed inside the venue and were used as mini-stages for theatrical performers.
Musical talent - Two dance bands, one playing Cajun and the other Zydeco and New Orleans-style blues provided lively music.
Variety entertainers - The King and Queen of Mardi Gras greeted guests and circulated, juggling pirates performed on the Pirate Float, a fairy princess created balloon sculptures on a “giant creatures” float and a Samurai performed martial arts moves in front of an Asian Pagoda float.
- Event installation and strike (tear down) over 2 days.
