Biography
Tina Marx
Tina Marx is an alumni of DU where she received a degree in
theatre & psychology. Whether she's doing on-camera work,
voice-overs, dancing or charming listeners as she sings with
the Millionaires, she's a crowd pleaser . Tina studied guitar
and music theory with David Devine and percussion with Eric
Robnett. Check out her bongo playing on You Can Call Me Al
recorded live at the Marriott in downtown Denver. One of the
great things about Tina is her ability to energize the crowd.
If you're not dancing, Tina is probably going to grab you
by the hand and pull you out to the dance floor while she's
sharing the lead vocal with the audience. The band is still
amazed and entertained watching Tina work the audience while
singing through her wireless microphone. It's also great to
see Tina leading the conga line or leading everyone through
the Electric Slide dance steps while she's singing out on
the dance floor. Tina loves fine dining, but not too many
restaurants compare to her own gourmet cooking. Even so, your
may find her late at night enjoying the great late night menu
at Trio Enoteca in Lodo, or taking a limo ride up to the Flagstaff
House in Boulder or Trios to check out their great food, service
and wine list."
Anthony Walker
Anthony is the Tina Marx & The Millionaires guitarist
(although shown on the left with basses) , music director,
sound engineer and shares the front person role with Tina.
Anthony performs about 50% of the lead vocals which encompasses
many styles. However, his forte is singing like Paul McCartney.
Check out this recording of Anthony singing Eleanor Rigby.
Anthony is currently working on writing and recording the
sound track for the Electro Steel film named Dead Ringer with
Greg Hasyn. This film features Paul McCartney look-alike Mike
Olie.
Anthony studied Indian Music in India under instruction of
the pandit Jayanth Kumar Das with a focus on sitar. He is
the proud owner of many other Indian instruments such as tabla,
tanpura, bonsuri, sheni etc. To find out more about Indian
instruments, visit Rikhi Ram in New Delhi. Anthony's tanpura
was purchased at Rikhi Ram which just happens to be where
George Harrison purchased his primary sitar. Anthony plans
to bring back a sarangi on his next trip to India. Check out
the sound of Anthony's tanpura.
Raoul Rossiter
Raoul is one killer drummer. Always sounds like a record with
Raoul is playing. He always suprizes the band with new drumming
techniques like his drum machine immitation using a snare
cymbal. Also plays in some art bands with Mark Harris like
Hamster Theatre. Favorite restaurant is Lucille's. Amazing
how much the Lucille's in Boulder looks like the one in Fort
Collins.
Pete Hennig
Pete is one of Colorado's most solid bassists. Having studied
bass at Berkley in Boston, he's a good reader and able to
tackle any style. That's why he's been able to fill in with
so many Colorado bands. Specifically, Rob Mullins (now in
LA), Vic Cionetti, Chuck Pyle (and the Black Hole Ramblers),
Nelson Rangell (and his brother Bobby), Ron Henry, Danny Heines
(also with Paul McCandless on Danny's album), Chris Daniels
and the Kings, Paula Westerfield, Rosewood Canyon, and many
overseas gigs with Hazel Miller and several Department of
Defense (DOD) gigs.
Wil Key
One wild and crazy guy who plays a mean hammond organ. He
even has his own band called the Wil-Key-Band. Unbelievable!
Mark Harris
Mark has been trying to figure out how a saxophone, clarinet
and flute works for some 35 years now -- during the course
of which he completed a Masters Degree in Saxophone Performance
at CU Boulder. He has solo'd with Roger Waters and the Colorado
Symphony Orchestra, performed concertos with the University
of Colorado Wind Ensemble, toured Europe with Thinking Plague,
performed at numerous festivals with Hamster Theatre, written
music for plays, recorded CDs. He has performed with momen
terra, Ron Miles, Fred Hess, Janet Feder, the Boulder Creative
Music Ensemble, the Rockadiles, Monkey Siren and sung with
Three Little Words. He has backed up artists including Cab
Calloway, The Temptations, George Shearing, Dianne Schuur,
Billy Eckstein, Natalie Cole and others...
When not torturing Burt the Cat with ever-more-irritating
saxophone noise (or his trombone with a sax mouthpiece), Mark
maintains a large private teaching studio in and around the
metro area and is in fully moderate demand as a clinician
and adjudicator.
In summary, Mark is an incredibly talented musician who reads,
composes and improvises at the highest level. Although he's
a true jazz purist, who does not believe in effects like echo,
he keeps up with the times by using dual electronic loopers
for his voice mail greeting. The only musician Tina and Anthony
have met that can play the piccolo trumpet solo on Penny Lane
flawlessly.
